Ilana Greco

Peggy Roof

Over 20 years ago, Peggy started a home maintenance business, and because of her life long passion for interior design and the desire to help her clients create a home the love living in, it developed into interior design consultation services. This includes helping her clients in: material selections for kitchens and baths, space planning, color consultation, including  developing custom colors and custom built-in designs, to name a few. She is also knowledgeable in construction methods and terminology, having worked closely with remodeling projects.

Peggy completed the Interior Design Program at Chabot and Las Positas Colleges, taking additional classes to further her interior design capabilities. Peggy was a student member of NKBA and IFDA and finished at the top of her class. Before working at J. Hettinger Interiors, Peggy worked at a custom window treatment and upholstery shop. She worked with clients on custom designs and gained further knowledge in pricing and estimating fabrics, along with sales of Hunter Douglas products. Peggy loves fabrics; combining pattern, color, and texture in unique and pleasing ways, but her favorite part of design is the collaboration process, developing creative designs using the principles and elements of design.

Ilana Greco, Associate Designer & Intern Coordinator

Ilana first interned at J. Hettinger Interiors before joining the team as an Associate Designer. She obtained her BS in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing, which helped her become proficient in understanding how to meet the needs of consumers. Growing up with a father as a sculptor and art collector created a great appreciation for all types of decorative arts, as well as understanding the value and joy it brings into the homes and lives of those who embrace it.

Ilana chose to fully commit to a career in Interior Design during her last year in college, which is where she found the University of California, Berkeley Extension Certificate program in Interior Architecture. This is where she honed her skills in AutoCAD, Photoshop, construction documents, color theory, lighting design, and material selection.

Ilana firmly believes that design should be centered on function for the end user, and without proper functionality the design will not hold its ground over time. She also believes the most important part of design is driven by understanding your client’s wants and needs, sometimes before they do, and translating those needs into beautiful and functional designs. Ilana’s favorite part about the design process is selecting materials, getting to collaborate with a team, and creating spaces on the computer, both in AutoCAD and 3D modeling software.
